You might be wondering what the iPhone SDK has in common with chewy caramel, milk chocolate, and crispy crunchies—the answer? More than you’d think. Since releasing the iPhone SDK last week, it’s apparently already been downloaded 100,000 times, according to Apple. This despite the fact that the site was hammered on the day of release as developers jostled for a spot in the queue and a file that was over 2GB in size.
Apple’s Phil Schiller also noted that over a million people have watched the video of the iPhone SDK event on Apple.com. Personally, I can’t count myself among either of those numbers. I did actually start downloading the SDK, but then I realized that a) it was 2GB and 2) I actually have no use for it whatsoever. So best leave that to the professionals.
The real question: does this mean we can expect 100,00 iPhone applications at launch? Well, probably not, but hey: I do like me some choice.
