Review: Seidio Super Slim Rubberized Hard Case for iPhone
That’s right, it’s not just slim, it’s super slim. The $30 Super Slim Rubberized Hard Case for iPhone from Seidio is a two-piece, hardshell case that’s designed to protect your iPhone from the harsh environment of the everyday world. But does it live up to the name? Let’s take a look.
First, the claims of slimness. With a thickness of between 1.0 and 1.2mm, I would agree that this case surpasses mere “slimness” to reach the “super” slim category—it’s thin enough that you barely even notice it’s there. Rubberized? Certainly: the outside of the case has a smooth coating that provides a slight texture as well as a pleasant tactile feeling. Hard case? Indeed: the plastic construction of this case is firm and solid, providing a resilient exterior that stands up well to everyday use. As for the “for iPhone” part, well, why else would we be reviewing this here?
The two halves of the case snap together, with the iPhone in the middle, forming a snug iPhone sandwich. Getting them apart is a little more difficult; longer fingernails are a big help. The case works to achieve a balance between accessibility and protection, providing openings for the iPhone’s screen, volume and Ring/Silent controls, headphone jack, camera, Sleep/Wake button, and a large opening at the bottom for the microphone, dock-connector, and speaker. In addition, two cutouts on the face of the case leave the earpiece and Home Button accessible. Though the case is slim, a slightly raised ridge around the border of the screen provides some degree of protection, though the screen is still potentially vulnerable to damage.
This open screen area also contributes to another potential issue shared with a number of other iPhone cases: namely, that dust and other particles can become trapped beneath the cover, particularly if you often leave the phone in your pocket.
One other complaint I have is about how well the case stays on the iPhone. When I dropped my phone onto a hard surface while it was in the case, the front half of the case popped off. The phone, fortunately, wasn’t damaged, but I remain wary of just how much abuse this case can take.
Overall, the Super Slim Rubberized Hard Case for iPhone might be a bit of a mouthful, but it’s a respectable case for the iPhone, even if it does have some potential flaws.

Hi there,
I've been using the Seidio case for about a month and very much like it. There was one time I dropped the phone and the front popped off, but I thought it was good that the case was taking the impact, instead of my iPhone!
