Looking for a way to easily track recurring information like expenses or mileage by harnessing the awesome power of your iPhone? A reader over at our sister site, Mac OS X Hints, may have just the thing for you. Using Google Docs’s recently rolled out survey feature, you can quickly create a simple web app for your own personal use.
All you have to do is create a spreadsheet for whatever information you want to track, and then make a form for it using Google Docs’s Share feature. You’ll get an email invitation with a link to the form you’ve created; open that in Safari and bookmark it (or heck, add it to your Home screen), and you’ll have easy access to your own personal web app. Though you can only view and not edit the spreadsheet on your iPhone directly, you can always access it from a computer later, should you need to crunch some numbers.
