Gimme, gimme
Just in case Apple was unsure of what to add to any iPhone updates—software or otherwise—that it might be about to release at a certain San Francisco-based trade show, we’ve got a handy checklist for them. Specifically, Dan Moren went through the feature wish list we painstakingly compiled last summer and marked off what Apple has added since then and what’s still missing. The result? A revised wish list just in time for any last-minute Expo-fueled speculation.

The wish list had lots of good things, but I was surprised that it is missing one big one, especially now that Leopard and Leopard Server have been released. For me, the killer app, to make the PDA functions complete, is one that Apple has ready to go - iCal. But syncing physically via USB as it does now is both cumbersome and out of date. Leopard server now has iCal server, and it works fantastically with iCal client and mail.app in Leopard. If one could use the iPhone as an iCal client wirelessly and allow one to change the appts as well as view them, ie via an account signin as done with email, this would provide an incredibly important functionality. And it is sitting there in Apple's domain just waiting to be implemented....
