Apple re-ups iPhone limit

iPhone limitThe folks from Cupertino haven’t exactly been shy about their plans to sell as many iPhones as possible this holiday season. you may remember a certain furor erupting over a $200 price-drop to everybody’s favorite gadget back in September. iPhone owner numero uno (aka Steven P. Jobs) said at the time:

“We want to make iPhone even more affordable for even more people this holiday season. We’re on track to ship our millionth iPhone by the end of this month…and we want to put iPhones in a lot of stockings this holiday season.”
Of course, Apple hit the 1 million mark right on schedule, so there’s no reason to think that Santa and Ephraim the Hanukkah fairy won’t be delivering iPhones aplenty by the end of year.

But one potential barrier stood in the way: Apple had been limiting iPhone purchases to two per person, along with a restriction on what form payment could take, with cash being persona non grata. Theories ranged from preventing the resale of unlocked phones to making sure there was enough stock for the European launches and the holidays. But either way, if you wanted to buy an iPhone for every member of your family, you were out of luck.

Until now. Well, Apple’s now reversed that decision and you can buy as many iPhones as your little heart desires. Well, as long your heart does not desire more than five. If it does, you’ll have to recruit some help. And either way, don’t expect to pay with a suitcase full of cash—you’ll still need a credit card or debit card in order for iPhone to come home with you.

That's interesting. Carphone Warehouse in the UK was accepting cash on the night of launch, especially when their POS tills crashed!

you could always go out and get some of those mastercard gift cards, put how much you want to spend on it, and boom! there it is....
