First European sales figures now in
With the iPhone now released in the UK and Germany, we offer a heartfelt welcome to our continental friends. But what’s the best thing about an iPhone release? It’s not playing with the fancy new features, or trying to impress your friends with your ability to find directions to anyplace—no, it’s estimating sales figures.
In Great Britain, O2 claims to have sold “hundreds of thousands” of iPhones since they first became available on Friday night, according to resplendently mustached CEO Peter Erskine. One report suggests that O2 activated 8,000 handsets on Friday evening alone, far exceeding their estimates. Meanwhile, in Germany, T-Mobile claimed to have sold 10,000 phones on Friday.
So how long before Germany and the UK hit a million phones each? Can they possibly beat the US’s record? Not that this is a race or anything—or is it?

Will an iPhone from Germany that works on T-Mobile's network, work on T-Mobile networks in the U.S.?
When German iPhone users travel abroad, which networks can they use?

ummmm...im pretty sure apple would have thought of that. i really dont think so. in fact, i would be extremely surprised if the german phones worked on the US tmobile. if u want it unlocked, wait for the french one in a couple of weeks (at least i think it will be unlocked and coming in a couple weeks). the thing is, tmobile US and tmobile germany are different things. not interchangeable (wow, spell check didnt say it was wrong. cool). so ya. and as for international roaming, they will use whatever network tmobile (germany one) uses, and will pay outrageous roaming charges (that is if german phone companies are anything like their american buddies).
