Return of the matte background people

KenSay welcome, bienvenue, and willkommen to a trio of new ads for the iPhone. Like the last set, these are filmed in a manner reminiscent of Apple’s old Switch ads: plain backgrounds with real people talking about their experiences with the iPhone. This time around we have Bryce, an airline pilot, talking about using the web to get the weather; Kristin, a ballerina and blogger who uses the web to keep her site up to date; and Ken, an off-Broadway producer who likes how the iPhone allows him to keep tabs on his show’s fan site.

So this phone allows me to keep track of exactly what they’re saying at all times. At the same time, emailing the director and saying ‘hey, the fans are telling me that this guy is doing great; this guy flubbed a line; this guy this. You need to get back in the theater and check it out.
Oh, yeah, I bet the director loooooves that. I’d like to see a counterpoint commercial with how exactly the director feels about Ken’s new iPhone. I imagine it would involve hair-tearing and perhaps jumping up and down on an iPhone.

I wonder if that pilot puts his iPhone on airplane mode before taking off.

Since the ballet girl's website, "The Winger" is for real, my strong guess is that they aren't using actors as I originally suspected and that they are finding candidates via their "Share Your iPhone Story" link on the Apple website:

http://www.apple.com/iphone/share/

They get some fun stories, contact the person and throw them in an ad. Such easy casting!

Checked out http://www.myfirsttimetheplay.com/ from the producer Ken and it's legit. He does have to keep tabs with the stories as all of the material he actually gets from people all over the world via his site. The actors have to then present the story as told by the fan, if not they are not doing their job. It's not the best commercial out there, I actually dislike this new campaign but I wouldn't go out and call him a liar without knowing what was behind it all.

Re: Mike's comments about calling someone a liar:

I think there's an unfortunate typo in the post. You wouldn't write that someone "lies how" something works; you'd write that he "lies about how" it works. You would, however write that he "likes how" it lets him do things. Can we get a ruling from Mr. Moren on this?

Consider me embarrassed. As Morty points out above, the post was a typo, and was supposed to read "likes" not "lies." Oh, the difference a "K" can make. I've corrected it; thanks for pointing it out!

Nice to know pilots the reason there are so many weather related flight delays are because not all pilots have iphones. Makes me want to go out and buy one so the next time I am stuck on a plane, I can run to the cockpit with my iphone to save the day.
