iPhone crosses the border into Germany on November 9th
Another day, another European country added to the stable of imminent iPhone purveyors. Yesterday it was the United Kingdom; today, their neighbor to the east, Germany. As expected, Apple has announced an exclusive deal with German cell provider T-Mobile to carry the handset.
The date of the Deutschland drop is November 9th, the same day it appears across the channel. But the question on everybody’s mind is no doubt the price, a hefty €399 that’s roughly on par with the £269 being charged in the UK. Purchasing the unit will require a new 2-year contract with T-Mobile, and the handset will only be available through T-Mobile’s stores and website.
While T-Mobile is making much out of its 8,600 Wi-Fi hot spots in Germany, they don’t appear to be offering the same deal as O2, letting iPhone users access those hot spots for free. We feel your pain, Germany; believe us.

Well I am from Germany, and I am not yet jealous of Britain, for one, all of Germany will be covered in EDGE by the end of this year by T-Mobile, the UK is not big plus sign I would say.
And second so far it appears, that you are only required to sign a 2 year deal with T-mobile it does not state what price these contracts will be.
So you might be able to get as a student for example a 7 EUR a month deal with 50 inclusive minutes to any network.
I would say tha tis AWESOME, since these high contracts are really killing my will to buy the iPhone.
