Apple announces UK iPhone

Posted by Jim Dalrymple | Tuesday, September 18, 2007 6:10 AM PT

Apple CEO Steve Jobs told invited press in London on Tuesday that the iPhone will be available beginning November 9, 2007. Jobs also confirmed Apple’s mobile partner in the UK will be O2.

You will be disappointed if you were waiting for a 3G iPhone — Apple said the UK iPhone would use the 2G EDGE network.

Macworld has a story that is being updated throughout the event.

Dammit !

We, in canada are really retards now.

The whole Europe will get it before Canada. Stupid Rogers and their high GPRS access fees.

Grrrrrrr.

And now we'll see if there is any validity to people saying "if Apple doesn't release a 3G phone in Europe, it won't sell." I doubt it. They would probably sell more if so, but they'll still sell like hotcakes. Do hotcakes sell in Europe? I have no idea.

Canadians are such silly people, expecting an iPhone before the rest of the world.
