Facebook on iPhone

facebook3.jpgSocial networking site Facebook has launched a new iPhone version at iphone.facebook.com. Joe Hewitt, the mad genius behind the iUI scripts that we’re using for our own beta test of an iPhoney version of our site, is the man behind this new iPhone version of Facebook. And it’s a beautiful, beautiful thing.

To access it on your iPhone, just point your iPhone Safari browser at iphone.facebook.com.

I really like Facebook. I’m about 15 years too old to really use it effectively, but it’s so well constructed that I can’t help but be impressed. Not to step into a flame war here, but I always thought of Facebook as much more, well, Mac-like than its competitors. (I’m looking at you, MySpace. Although I did enjoy my trip to MySpace last week to read Dark Horse Presents.)

Anyway, enough padding from me. There’s more interface shot after the jump if you’re curious.

Here’s one more shot… of my own mug.

I told you not to look.

It is beautiful but I just wish there was a way to browse for events in your network.

If you go to facebook.com it forwards you to iphone.facebook.com.. Is there any way around this?
