AT&T reducing paper usage

AT&T WirelessLooks like AT&T has gotten tired of the negative press they’ve been getting over telephone bills that run slightly longer than an unabridged copy of War and Peace. I just got a text message from the company that reads as follows:

We are simplifying your paper bill, removing itemized detail. To view all detail go to att.com/mywireless. Still need full paper bill? Call 611.
Better late than never, I suppose. My first bill wasn’t that long, but since I’d long been signed up for paperless billing on my old provider, Verizon, any sort of dead trees were kind of an unwelcome surprise. And spelling out every kilobyte you transfered? On an unlimited data plan? Sounds like the billing department must have missed the memo on the whole iPhone thing; probably because there wasn’t enough paper left to send it to them.

Anyways, good move AT&T. Welcome to the 20th century.
