Go to the head of the page
Just in case you don’t happen to read our excellent Mac OS X Hints site, I thought I’d pass along this excellent tip submitted there by user ckontyko:
When browsing a web page in Safari on an iPhone, one tap of the top status bar (signal strength, time, etc.) brings you back to the top of the page, complete with the URL field visible. Pretty handy! That is, in fact, a super handy tip. Since Safari’s location bar scrolls away as you flick down the page, it can be irritating to reach the end of a long article and then have to flick your way back to the top of the page just to go to another site. Being able to jump back up with one tap is extremely useful.
On a related note, it’d be great if Safari on the iPhone had the same sort of inline find capabilities as Safari 3.0 on the Mac. Especially when browsing through a long page or PDF document, it’d be helpful to be able to search for a key word or phrase. Put it on your list, Apple.
