Digg launches official iPhone version

Iphone-Digg2 While the iPhone can view normal web pages, many people like top go to special iPhone-optimized versions of them. One such site is digg. Since the launch of the iPhone, many digg users with the device have been using David Cann’s special version of the site to view it on their phones. Well now, digg itself has released an official iPhone version of the popular social news website.

According to digg co-founder Kevin Rose, the new iPhone version of digg features “Native iPhone like story scrolling,” “mini permalink pages with top 5 comments,” “login and Digging,” and more. In my very limited testing of the app, it works very well and displays digg very nicely on the iPhone, though I wish it opened links to stories in new windows. But overall, it’s pretty sweet.
