There’s a TV crew in my office and an iPhone in Shawn’s car
Yes, my friends, the iPhone hype has gone into overdrive. (Hyperdrive?) I’m sitting at my desk right now doing an interview that’s destined for German TV over the weekend. It’s interesting to be talking for a piece that’s due after the iPhone comes out, when my only hands-on iPhone experience until Friday was my “15 minutes of iPhone fame” last January at Macworld Expo!
In other news, Shawn King of Your Mac Life fame has some initial Photos of the iPhone in the wild. I have a few theories about how Shawn managed to get his Canadian paws on an iPhone, but I refuse to share them at this time. Suffice it to say that I blame David Pogue! (As I frequently do as a part of my personal life. Who didn’t take out the trash? David Pogue’s fault!)
In any event, the Treo 650 in my office is starting to look at me suspiciously. I think it realizes that its days are numbered.
My friends in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, look for me on Neues this weekend! Every horrible pore of my face will be on one of your fine television channels. Hide the children.

LOL You can get the "Straight Dope" on how we managed all of this on our show tonight - YML has an exclusive interview with David Pogue (he's only doing 4 interviews ahead of the iPhone launch - NPR, CBS, NBC & Your Mac Life :) He even turned down a Daily Show with John Stewart gig) that we will play on Wednesday night's show - he's got some *very* interesting insights into the iPhone.
And you'll even hear Pogue narrate live the car accident we witnessed. :)

I'm really sorry he turned down The Daily Show. I'm not likely to catch him on CBS or NBC, may on NPR.

I'm pretty sure he turned down the Daily Show due to a scheduling conflict, not out of spite. David would be GREAT on the Daily Show.

Actually, it was scheduling plus the fact that they wanted him for a segment piece. One never knows how those will be spun :)

I'm sorry if I've given the impression he turned down the DS out of spite - that's certainly not what happened (like all of us, Pogue *loves* the DS!). He was off to Italy and simply couldn't make the gig.

Jason,
Your Treo may be looking at you funny, but my blackberry is flat out hiding from me. I've managed to lose my trusty email appliance a number of times this week, something I have not done once in year of owning it prior to monday. So either I'm becoming more careless because I know I'm going to replace it , or it has developed a mind of its own and is attempting to avoid an unfavorable fall from my office to the dumpster below.
