Yes, Macworld has sent operatives to iPhone lines across the country. We’ve got Chris Breen and Dan Frakes down in the South Bay, Brian Chen elsewhere in the Bay Area, and Dan Moren in Newton, Mass. We’ve got reports coming in from Jim Dalrymple and Shawn King in New York, plus more from New England, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania.
But just so people don’t get the wrong idea, it’s not just Mac people who are waiting in line — PC people are doing it too. Or, more to the point, several editors at PC World are waiting in line at the Stonestown (San Francisco) Apple Store. And drinking free Starbucks, apparently. (Once again proving Mat Honan’s thesis that everyone in these lines works for the media.)
Get all the details from PC World’s Harry McCracken at PC World’s Techlog.
Hey, nobody's giving me free Starbucks. What gives?
Actually, I was in line at Starbucks today, and they were passing out free iPhones! Boy, was I surprised.
