Tomorrow’s the big day, folks. In a little over twenty-four hours, we’ll be separating the iPhone owners from, well, the non-iPhone owners. But even if you plan on going out and grabbing an iPhone, have you thought about how you will accomplish this magnificent feat? Have you, in a word, strategerized?
If not, don’t worry—I’ve done it for you! Over at Macworld, you can find my round up of your options for getting ahold of Apple’s new handset tomorrow, along with handy resources and your odds of success (note: I haven’t taken a math course in seven years, so odds are not to be used for betting purposes). It covers everything from going to the Apple or AT&T store, buying online, and becoming Steve Jobs’s newest stalker best bud.
So how about it? Where are you headed tomorrow, and when? I’m still trying to decide between an Apple Store and an AT&T outlet—fortunately, they’re only a mile or so from each other, so I can procrastinate a bit longer. Or maybe I’ll just follow Steve around and see where he goes.
According to the Cingular Store, only a few of their retail locations will have iPhones, and those locations will only have 5 each.
Apparently, there's no list of the stores that will have them, either. So, looks like the Apple Store is the best bet.
@Kevin: Actually there is a list. AT&T's store finder is in my article, and they've just added an even easier way to find the iPhone this morning: http://www.att.com/iphonelocator.
Also, I've talked to AT&T corporate in the last couple days, and been told that some locations will have more than others, but all of those locations will have some. I'd bet there are more than five.
