Find a[n iPhone-selling AT&T] store

ATTsearch.jpg Given that there are fewer than 200 Apple Stores and nearly 2000 AT&T stores in the U.S., you might think your chances of actually getting an iPhone this Friday would be better if you visited one of the latter. (Evidently, Steve Jobs agrees, as he told Arianna Huffington to score the shiny new gadget by avoiding Apple retail stores and heading for an AT&T retailer.) The only problem is that, according to the word on the street, not every AT&T store will be carrying the iPhone — leaving people to wonder if they’ll wait in line only to leave empty-handed.

Worry no more. AT&T’s Find a Store page now lets you search for stores that will actually carry the iPhone. Just select Apple iPhone in the Services box, enter your address or zip code, choose how far you’re willing to travel, and click Submit. For example, Apple’s worker bees apparently have seven iPhone-carrying AT&T stores within 10 miles of Apple HQ.

I was planning to go to the Apple Store vs AT&T store with the assumption that there would be more inventory at the Apple store. If the AT&T stores got a good amount of inventory then I can see the load of people spread amongst the stores.

Now I don't know where to go and didn't want to wait earlier than 3pm.

For some reason, the Find a Store page was down for a while; it seems to be back up now.
